A flow sheet is the process map of a mill: it shows which material goes to which machine, where it is transported from where, and what happens at each point. The "brain" of the facility is on paper.
Flow chart should not be confused with layout. A flowchart shows logic — what goes where. The floor plan shows the physics — where the machine sits in the building. The two constrain each other, but they are not the same thing.
What to look for in the scheme
- Number and sequence of passages: how many breaking, how many reduction passages are there.
- Roller lengths: grinding capacity allocated to each passage.
- Plansifter chambers and sieve numbers: where the distinction is made.
- Number of purifiers and their connections: the power of semolina purification.
- Conveying lines: pneumatic or mechanical, are their capacities appropriate?
- Return lines: which passage the intermediate product goes back to.
