Traceability: When a Complaint Comes

Gains:

  • Can count the links of the traceability chain
  • Knows what to do in a recall scenario
  • Evaluates the impact of the recording system on traceability

When a customer says "there is a problem with this batch", the question that needs to be answered is: which wheat did this flour come from, on which shift, on which line and where did it go?

links of the chain

  1. Wheat purchasing: supplier, batch, analysis results.
  2. Storage: in which silo it was put.
  3. Production: in which shift it was milled, with what settings.
  4. Packaging: batch/lot number, production date.
  5. Shipment: to which customer, in what quantity, on what date.

Without registration system

If one of these links is not registered, the chain will break and the recall will have to cover the entire stock. Accurate registration limits the recall to one batch — the cost difference is huge.

AI-powered search comes in handy here: when dispersed records become searchable, asking “which silo was used on the March 14 shift” takes seconds instead of minutes.

Practice traceability. Trace the chain from beginning to end with a false complaint once a year; A broken ring only looks like this.
